Welcome to Småland – the province of magnificent scenery, valleys, lakes and forests, beautiful timbered houses and wooden churches. In the heart of hilly, lake-rich Småland’s landscape, right between the Kingdom of Crystal (glasriket) and Astrid Lindgren’s home area, in an idyllic and very quiet location close to the lake and forest, in a row of small houses, at a no through road, on a hill in the beautiful small town Virserum you will find this cosy, beautiful, well maintained and in 2015 extensively renovated holiday house with a garden view at the ski slope Dackestupet and over the town.
This modern house in scandinavian style is tastefully and comfortably furnished with much attention to detail and fully equipped with all the utensils necessary for a comfortable, restful and relaxing holiday. Enjoy great evenings by the fireplace with an insert or breakfasts in the morning sun on the covered terrace with views over the village. There you can also relax or have a barbecue during the day, while the children play in a child-friendly garden cottage „Lilla Bullerbyn“. TV with more than 20 Swedish and partly English / American TV channels is also at your disposal, including Wi-Fi and a selection of board games for the whole family.
Our characterful home with high-quality furnishings can accommodate up to 8 guests comfortably on a total area of approximately 100 m² with an open space design. There are two separate bedrooms each with two beds 200 x 90 cm available. The living room has two comfortable sofa beds each 200×140 cm for max. 4 persons. In addition, in the dining area there is a sofa bed (200×90 cm). A cot and a baby high chair supplement the family-friendly amenities.
All costs directly associated with the house – such as water, waste, electricity and heating (even outside the normal vacation season) – are included. So total costs remain calculable! Only your consumables, incl. firewood and charcoal for the BBQ are not provided as well as sheets and towels – they can be purchased in a local supermarket.
The house is located quiet on the edge of the town but still centrally. The big lake Virserumssjön is just about 5 – 10 minutes walk through the forest, at the foot of the mountain. There you will find beautiful and child-friendly swimming spots, you can also go fishing. A bakery, a butcher shop, two supermarkets, a pharmacy and other small shops can be found in the town center. For short trips to the lake or for shopping you have up to four simple bicycles available. In summer you will find numerous tourist attractions in Virserum. So you can go on saturdays with the historic narrow-gauge railway, while you are able to run the same distance on all other days with handcars. Several museums in DackeStop invite you to visit, including the famous art gallery with frequent exhibitions, a furniture and a telecommunications museum with historic buildings. The next elk park (moose park) is just 20 minutes away by car. Here you come close to the king of the forest! Numerous natural attractions are nearby, such as Dackegrottan – The Cave of Dacke, several national parks or More Kastell – the „Grand Canyon“ of Småland. The places from Astrid Lindgren’s famous children’s stories such as Vimmerby, Lönneberga or Bullerby can be reached by car as fast as the amusement park „Astrid Lindgren’s World“ or Kleva Gruva with gold washing, mine walking and climbing. Of course there are also the famous Småland glass factories (Glasriket), the beautiful city of Kalmar with its famous castle and the 6 km long bridge on the beautiful sunny island of Öland. All attractions in Småland, including the „Isaberg Mountain Resort“ or the coast of the Baltic Sea are only one to two hours away by car. In the house you will finde more information about a wide range of excursions and sightseeing tours.
